first visit to Billy Beach Sushi & Bar and i'm pretty sure we'll be back. friendly service and our sushi came out pretty fast! it was a last minute choice since we live close by but overall the experience was lovely, good sushi, nice display, simple and a clean restaurant.

Cozy sushi restaurant in Ballard. Our server was incredibly friendly and bubbly, both as a positive and sometimes negative (as her conversational personality with others sometimes led to a lapse in service). The sushi was really fresh, as one would expect in Seattle. We chose for the chefs assorted nigiri and it was delicious. We also got an order of hamachi belly and salmon belly but surprisingly a little lackluster. Don't get me wrong, it was quite fresh. However, for being a belly cut it didn't seem to be as fatty and tender as we are accustomed too. We also ordered an interesting roll that had tumeric sushi rice and ghost chili aioli, because why not? I gotta say...it worked! Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area and are craving some sushi.

Billy Beach was a hit! With a name like that I wasn't sure what to expect. But my friend was raving about it and when I saw how good the photo of sushi she took I knew I had to go sometime. I was in a mood for some sushi rolls tonight so I ordered a takeout of the beach rainbow roll. The roll included real crab, shrimp tempura, mayo, tobiko, cucumber, avocado, salmon, yellowtail, tuna. The tempura was crunchy and the crab with mayo was awesome and sashimi on top was fresh as well. I'm happy that I found a great sushi place so close to my home. My friend said it's a bit pricey but honestly I don't think it's that bad. I'm excited to take advantage of happy hour menu next time. The staff was nice and it was cool to chat with fellow Japanese people working there who are surprisingly rare in Seattle.
